Kyle’s Treehouse
Challenge
Kyle’s Treehouse was founded by Jeffrey and Jennifer Westphal after their son, Kyle, was diagnosed with autism. The organization raised funds for autism research and supported families navigating an autism diagnosis. When it came time for a fundraising gala, they needed more than an invitation. They needed something that captured the spirit of Kyle’s story and gave recipients a reason to feel genuinely connected to the mission before they ever arrived.
Solution
Partnering with the creative team that created the original Kyle’s Treehouse brand, we illustrated and engineered a gala invitation around the concept “Build a Treehouse. Build a Dream.” Five perforated, die-cut panels could be punched out, folded, and assembled into a three-dimensional paper treehouse. It was as much a keepsake as an invitation, drawing on the brand’s handcrafted illustration style from its interactive children’s book.
Result
Recipients had an experience before the event began. The invitation generated engagement and emotional connection in a way a traditional printed piece never could. It’s the kind of work we believe in most: ideas that don’t just communicate but change how people feel before they walk through the door.
